SPECIAL STUDENTS
A special student is a person who is allowed by the University to register for undergraduate courses in order to obtain university credits, but who is not seeking an undergraduate degree, certificate or diploma from the University of Ottawa.
Payment of university fees
The special student has access to view his invoice and statement of account through uoZone. If you have trouble accessing the tool, call Computing and Communications Services at 613-562-5800, extension 6555.
University fees of a registered special student are due by the deadline date to pay tuition fees, or if the student registers after that date, immediately after the course selection is approved by the faculty.
If you decide to drop a course you are registered in, you must officially withdraw from the course at your faculty, before the deadline date of the University calendar. Simply not attending the course will not cancel your registration.
Correspondence from the University is sent to uOttawa.ca email accounts. It is your responsibility to check your university email account regularly.
Consequences of a delinquent account
Please note that any fees owed to the University of Ottawa brings consequences that can be avoided by making your payment rapidly or by modifying your registration as soon as possible.
A late registration fee and interest are added to all unpaid accounts.
A severe financial condition is added to the delinquent account after the deadline date for late registration, denying future registration. This condition also prevents any request of academic documents (attestation of studies, transcript, diploma) from the University until the account is paid in full.
In order to register to a new session, the special student who has not paid his fees or signed a financial agreement must:
- Pay his debt
- Pay, before registering, the full amount of university fees for the new semester. To inquire about the amount to be paid, please contact an InfoService agent.
120 days after the deadline date for the payment of university fees, any account that remains unpaid will be transferred to the Collection Department.
