INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Payment of university fees
The international student has access to view his invoice and statement of account through uoZone. If you have trouble accessing the tool, call Computing and Communications Services at 613-562-5800, extension 6555. Correspondence from the University is sent to uOttawa.ca email accounts. It is your responsibility to check your university email account regularly.
University fees of a registered international student are due by the deadline date to pay tuition fees, or if the student registers after that date, immediately after the course selection is approved by the faculty. If you experience difficulty paying your fees by the deadline date, you can make a financial arrangement with InfoService staff, before the deadline date to pay the university fees. If you decide to drop the courses you are registered in or if, for any other reason, it is impossible for you to attend your courses, you must officially withdraw from these courses using the online tool, "Rabaska", or at your faculty, before the deadline date of the University calendar. Simply not attending the course will not cancel your registration.
The suggested method of payment for university fees to the University of Ottawa from outside Canada is by a bank transfer. To view the other methods of payment that are accepted, please access our webpage.
Health insurance for international students
All international students must purchase the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). The payment of the UHIP insurance is mandatory for all international students. For complete details concerning UHIP, please visit the University Health Insurance Plan website or contact the International Office by email at uhipramu@uOttawa.ca or by phone at 613-562-5847.
Consequences of a delinquent account
Please note that any fees owed to the University of Ottawa brings consequences that can be avoided by making your payment rapidly or by modifying your registration as soon as possible.
If you leave your account unpaid:
- a late-payment penalty and interest are added to the unpaid account;
- in addition, after the deadline for withdrawing from a course and receiving a 100% refund credit, you cannot register again and you cannot request official University documents (proof of studies, transcript, diploma) until the account is paid in full;
- if your account still remains unpaid, your registration for the current session is cancelled; so, to register for a new session, you must pay all amounts you owe to the University and, before you register, you have to pay all of your university fees for the new session as well
To find out the amount you owe, please contact an InfoService officer.
