Students can get more information regarding the U-Pass, send their comments or ask questions directly to their students association.

Who can help if I require financial counselling, financial aid or information regarding scholarships?

 

Please note that the Financial Aid and Awards Service offers you not only financial aid, bursaries and scholarships, but also other services like financial counselling to help you manage your finances so you can more easily undertake, pursue and complete your postsecondary education.

Who is covered by the University of Ottawa Health and Dental Insurance Plans?

 

  • The University of Ottawa student associations’ Health and Dental Plan fees are mandatory.
  • Full-time undergraduate and graduate students registered at the University of Ottawa are automatically covered by the University Health and Dental Insurance Plans.
Who can opt out of the Health Insurance Plan and Dental Insurance Plan?

 

  • Students who have a comparable coverage under an alternate plan can opt out of either one or both of the Health and Dental Insurance Plans within the prescribed opting-out periods.
  • You must be able to provide proof of alternate insurance coverage comparable to the Health and Dental Insurance Plans offered by the SFUO (undergraduate students) or the GSAÉD (graduate students).
How can I opt out of the Health and/or Dental Insurance Plans?

 

To opt out, you must connect to you InfoWeb account, click Finance – Awards and select Health Plan.

Is it possible to permanently opt out of the Health Insurance Plan and Dental Insurance Plan?

 

No, since you personal health coverage can change.

I opted out of the Health Insurance Plan and/or Dental Insurance Plan, but the credit does not appear in my account?

 

  • The University did not charged you the insurance fees or
  • No opt-out has been selected for this period, therefore you have accepted to be insured by the University of Ottawa Health and/or Dental Insurance Plans.

 

Why do I have to complete the opt-out form for both insurance plans?

 

You are given the possibility to opt out of either one or both insurance plans offered by the University of Ottawa.

 

Who should I contact if I need more information regarding the insurance plans?


  • If you are an undergraduate student, please contact the SFUO.
  • If you are a graduate student, please contact the GSAÉD.
Does the Health and Dental Insurance Plans apply to international students?

 

  • The University of Ottawa student associations’ Health and Dental Plan fees are mandatory for all full-time students: Canadian students, permanent residents and international students.
  • All international students must also purchase the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). For more details concerning UHIP, please visit the University Health Insurance Plan website or contact the International Office.
